Dealing
This was for my final project in my Animation I class, we were supposed to, in essence, play a game of scrabble. We were given letters and would make a word out of them, then make a claymation that exemplified that word. My word was Dealing so of course I first though of making a leisure suit alien giving out skittle drugs to a little clay boy. Actually it took a while to figure out how to make this all. The boy was pretty slung together to, he barely had a good framing and I had issues with his clay falling off at times. I experimented a lot with camera moves because the new tripod we had just got in was pretty good at that. The most fun I had on this project was animating the psychedelic skittle scene which involved trying to make skittles stick to a clay boy. My professor was pretty frightened when he first saw I pulled dealing, he was imagining gang violence or whatnot, I got a chance to show first here what later became a trend of taking really dark subjects and redoing them with childlike props so it was funny…and awkward.
