Distant Future

The Sad Hunter Series (animation):
This is kind of an amalgamation of ideas based on The Sad Hunter animation.  I kind of want to tell a story about his relationship with Fi-fi.  I think he uses her as an excuse not to interact with real people and I think it would be interesting to take the story from him only being with her to slowly being forced to socialize with more people.

A lot of my character ideas would show up in this.  I generally take the Grimm Brothers view of the woods (i.e. symbols of paths to growth), and think it could be cool to slowly bring a bunch of strange screwed up characters in and have them interact.  It wouldn’t be over the top and it would progress slowly (with the first many episodes just having The Sad Hunter and Fi-fi).

Kolboar the Terrible (animation):
This is the story of a giant monster who can’t help but hurt people because he’s so huge and clumsy.  It’s a fairy tale about how this monster with poor vision is constantly sad because he’s always killing people because of his clumsiness.  At one point he accidentally crushes an entire village and all that’s left is a little girl who’s obviously pissed off at him for killing all her family and friends.  Many people had tried to kill him before and failed, but she determines herself to do it.  She climbs up him but as she gets to the top she realizes that he’s crying.  She befriends him and with her 20/20 vision she helps him steer clear of hurting anyone else.

Sermon (live-action):
This is kind of a venting of my own flaws.  The idea is that this kid goes into college to become a preacher thinking he can change the world.  He keeps with this goal, but as a couple years pass he avoids ever having to speak because he can never figure out anything to say that’s worthwhile for people to hear.  Eventually he’s forced to preach as part of a final project for a class and he gives a very strange sermon.  Rather than telling people how to live better or scolding people for what they’ve done wrong he instead tells them all his own flaws.  In this he explains something about human life.  That none of us can be trusted, that we’re all bad people and we really don’t care about changing.  That we’re all selfish.  Unfortunately, I’m not sure how a giant monologue like this would work on screen…so we’ll see if it ever gets made.

Mourning film (live-action):
In this a guy is mourning the death of his wife and can’t get over not being there for her death so he hires a prostitute to pretend to be his wife for an evening.  He asks her all the questions he wishes he could have asked his wife and tells her all the things he didn’t get the chance to in real life.
